The name BluStar was inspired by the Blue Star Service Flag, a symbol long associated with service, sacrifice, and commitment to others.

For Jeff and Lisa, the name reflects the values that guide BluStar Home Service today: service, integrity, self-reliance, and helping others live safely and independently in the homes they love.

While BluStar's work focuses on home safety, accessibility, health, and independence, its mission is ultimately about serving people. The name serves as a reminder that every assessment, inspection, recommendation, and project begins with a commitment to helping clients make informed decisions about their homes and future needs.

A lifelong Eastern North Carolina resident and East Carolina University graduate, Jeff founded BluStar Home Service to help homeowners, seniors, veterans, and families make informed decisions about home safety, accessibility, health, and long-term independence.

Jeff's understanding of homes and building systems comes from a lifetime of hands-on experience, beginning with family members who taught him the value of craftsmanship, self-reliance, and maintaining a home properly. He later spent several years working in commercial building maintenance, gaining practical experience with building systems, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

As a veteran of the North Carolina National Guard and an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (CPI), Jeff brings a practical, objective, and service-oriented approach to every client interaction.

Through BluStar, Jeff helps clients understand their homes, identify concerns, opportunities, and practical next steps, and make confident decisions about safety, accessibility, health, and long-term livability.

His goal is simple: help people make informed decisions about their homes and future needs.

Lisa is a lifelong Eastern North Carolina resident and graduate of East Carolina University, where she earned a degree in Social Work with a focus on geriatrics.

For more than two decades, Lisa has dedicated her career to serving older adults and their families. Her experience includes work in long-term care, Adult Services with Pitt County Department of Social Services, the Community Alternatives Program (CAP), and several nonprofit organizations serving seniors throughout Eastern North Carolina, including the Pitt County Council on Aging.

Throughout her career, Lisa has helped older adults and their families navigate the challenges of aging, connect with community resources, and develop plans that support safe and independent living. She is especially passionate about helping older adults remain engaged, independent, and comfortable in the homes and communities they love.

Lisa brings a unique combination of professional experience, compassion, and practical understanding to BluStar. Her ability to connect with seniors and their families helps ensure that every recommendation reflects not only the needs of the home, but also the goals and well-being of the people who live there.
